The Medical Reserve Corps is a national volunteer program that trains local medical and non-medical professionals to assist public health and emergency services in response to large-scale weather or disease-related disaster events. There are more than 900 locally registered MRC units through the United States.  The Medical Reserve Corps of Sarasota County is an officially recognized MRC unit in Florida.
